ASQ-3 developmental screening

ASQ-3 (Ages & Stages Questionnaires) is an internationally recognized developmental screening tool for children aged 1 month to 5 years. It helps determine whether a child's development is appropriate for their age, identify possible developmental concerns at an early stage, and determine whether additional evaluation by a specialist may be needed. The screening assesses communication, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and personal-social development. Early identification of potential developmental concerns allows families to receive timely guidance and provide children with the best opportunities for healthy development.

FAQ

How is the ASQ-3 developmental screening performed?

The ASQ-3 developmental screening is conducted in a calm, comfortable environment and does not involve any painful or invasive procedures. The assessment is carried out through play-based activities and interaction with your child, allowing most children to feel relaxed and behave naturally. Parents remain with their child throughout the entire process and, when needed, answer the specialist's questions about their child's development and everyday skills.

During the screening, the specialist evaluates your child's development according to their age, reviews the ASQ-3 questionnaire results, observes behavior and the completion of simple age-appropriate tasks, and discusses with parents any developmental areas that may require additional attention. After the assessment, parents receive a clear explanation of the results, personalized recommendations to support their child's development, and answers to any questions they may have.

If the screening results indicate that further evaluation would be beneficial, the specialist may recommend a consultation with a lead pediatrician, neurologist, psychologist, speech and language therapist, pediatric ophthalmologist, or other specialists. This does not necessarily mean that your child has a medical condition. Additional consultations simply help assess specific areas of development in greater detail and, when appropriate, provide timely support.

You can book an ASQ-3 developmental screening by calling +380 97 312 92 91 or by visiting Doctor Sam Medical Center at 1 Kiltseva Road, Kyiv (Respublika Park Shopping Mall).

If you are living abroad or are unable to visit our medical center in person, you can start with an online family doctor consultation. For busy parents or families with young children, we also offer pediatric home visits. During the visit, the pediatrician can perform an initial developmental assessment, answer your questions, and, if necessary, recommend an ASQ-3 screening or consultations with other specialists.

Our specialists also provide ongoing support from the very first days of your child's life, helping parents with newborn care, breastfeeding guidance, infant development, routine preventive check-ups, and developmental monitoring at every stage of childhood.
