FAQ
How is a psychiatric examination performed?
A psychiatric examination is a one-on-one consultation during which a psychiatrist conducts a comprehensive assessment of your mental health. The purpose of the examination is to determine whether there are any psychiatric contraindications to issuing Medical Certificate Form No. 100-2/o and, when necessary, to identify conditions that may require further evaluation or treatment. During the examination, the psychiatrist assesses:
- orientation to time, place, and person;
- memory, attention, and concentration;
- thinking, speech, and the ability to answer questions logically;
- emotional state and behavior;
- judgment, insight, and the ability to adequately assess one's own condition and surrounding circumstances;
- the presence or absence of mental health conditions that may constitute contraindications under current Ukrainian legislation.
Following the consultation, the psychiatrist prepares the official medical conclusion. If additional evaluation or consultation with another specialist is required, the psychiatrist will explain the next steps and, if necessary, provide an appropriate referral.
