When is vaccination needed?
Vaccination is essential for effectively preventing dangerous diseases, as immunizing the population reduces the spread of infections, significantly mitigates disease severity, and eliminates the risk of fatal outcomes. Preventive vaccinations have globally decreased child mortality from diseases like measles, tetanus, polio, and whooping cough.
Immunity gained from childhood vaccinations weakens over time, making adult vaccination necessary to maintain protection, including:
- Revaccination against diphtheria and tetanus every 10 years;
- Vaccination for high-risk groups (healthcare workers, educators, military personnel) if not received in childhood;
- Immunization against dangerous diseases for travelers to high-risk areas;
- Annual flu vaccination.
Special attention is given to individuals with serious conditions, such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, HIV, or other immune-weakening states.
For these patients, tailored recommendations are developed, and a thorough evaluation is conducted to prevent potential adverse reactions.
How does the vaccination procedure work?
The Doctor Sam Medical Center is fully certified and uses vaccines recommended by the World Health Organization. We provide vaccination services and consultations adhering to Ministry of Health standards, ensuring safety and high-quality medical products. You can receive vaccinations against polio, pneumococcal infection, meningitis, flu, hepatitis A and B, Haemophilus influenzae infection, HPV, MMR, and DTP. Importantly, the individual must be healthy at the time of vaccination, as existing illnesses could worsen post-vaccination.
Before vaccination, an appointment is required, as the procedure involves the following preparatory steps:
- A general examination to identify and rule out any contraindications.
- Checking for allergic reactions to vaccine components or prior vaccinations.
- Assessing the patient’s health to confirm the absence of acute conditions that could interfere with vaccination.
- The doctor informs the patient about the procedure, potential side effects, and vaccine efficacy.
