AUDIENCE
Couples preparing for parenthood and pregnant women from 20 weeks of gestation. The group is limited to 5 couples.
The program includes four sessions covering the following topics:
- Changes before childbirth
- Labor: physical and psychological preparation
- Birth — the baby’s first day
- Basics of newborn care
Goal: to prepare the family for the arrival of the baby.
Objectives:
- diagnostic work (interview, projective techniques)
- lectures (obstetrician-gynecologist, pediatrician)
- practical training on emotional and psychological readiness for the baby’s arrival
Session 1:
Before childbirth. Psychological and physiological changes (psychologist, obstetrician-gynecologist)
Date and time: November 1, 11:00 – 13:30 (with a break)
Theory: Informational talk with couples. Psychological and physiological readiness for childbirth.
Practice: Projective technique “Me and my baby.” Breathing techniques. Relaxation. Massage.
You will learn:
- Psychological readiness of the family for childbirth and life changes after the baby’s arrival
- Emotional state by trimesters and key influencing factors
- What processes prepare the baby for a safe and successful birth
- How to choose a maternity hospital
- Prenatal care and observation
- Physiology of pregnancy and labor: what happens in the third trimester
- How your body changes and how to prevent possible complications
- Nutrition and physical activity before childbirth
Session 2:
Childbirth. Physical and psychological preparation (psychologist)
Date and time: November 8, 11:00 – 13:30 (with a break)
You will learn:
- How to reduce anxiety, improve well-being, and approach childbirth with confidence
- Exercises to prepare for labor (breathing, meditation, relaxation, haptonomy)
- Self-help and partner support during labor
- Pain during childbirth and how to manage it
- Labor positions and the partner’s role
- Breathing and massage techniques (practical work)
Session 3:
Childbirth — the baby’s birthday (obstetrician-gynecologist)
Date and time: November 15, 11:00 – 13:30 (with a break)
You will learn:
- Physiology of labor and its main stages: latent, active, expulsion, and postpartum periods
- How to recognize the onset of labor and when to contact your doctor or go to the maternity hospital
- What to pack for the hospital
- Types of pain relief (medical and non-medical)
- Possible complications and medical interventions during labor
- Indications for cesarean section
- Management options for the third stage of labor
- Postpartum recovery period
Session 4:
Newborn care basics (pediatrician)

You will learn:
- Vaccinations and screenings in the maternity hospital
- Home care: how to bathe, dress, and care for a newborn
- Umbilical cord and skin care basics
- Signs of health and possible issues in newborns
- Importance of breastfeeding
- Newborn first-aid kit essentials
